York County Emergency Services Radio Network

The following is not an all-inclusive list of talkgroups and prefixes in use by the emergency service agencies in York County, but is the result of years of listening to local communications systems, supplemented by years of service in local emergency services organizations. Changes are occurring all of the time, so I make no guarantees as to its accuracy.

NOTE: In 2009, York County has transitioned to a Project 25 digital trunked radio system in the 500 MHz band. In 2017, York County transitioned to a Project 25 Phase 2 digital trunked radio system. Instead of offering information on the radio system's frequencies, talkgroups, etc., I refer you instead to RadioReference.com where you will find all the information you will need to program your scanner for the digital system.

In addition, the emergency services landscape in York County continues to change, with police, fire and EMS agencies merging, shutting down, etc. This list may not always be up to date.

Unit radio IDs are a two number ID (i.e. 46-12) with the first number
denoting the department and the second number denoting the unit or officer.
York City Police uses their badge number only, no department ID number.
